The Surfboard docking station allows developers to quickly integrate 2-8 surfboards simultaneously into a design and allows the combination of different DSP’s simultaneously.

For example a WAVES MX5010 and MX5011 can be integrated to give both Guitar effects processing as well as EQ, Compression and the other funcations which the MX5010 provide. On the other hand several MX5010’s can be used simultaneously for multi channel control.

The Docking Station has an ATMEL MEGA128 as well as serial support, LCD and Buttons for control of the functions on the DSP’s. A USB.

or LAN interface is also available.

Firmware for both the DSP’s as well as the MEGA 128 (or other micros) is available from GATEWAY AUDIO

GATEWAY AUDIO provide a host of GUI interfaces for control of the MX5010 and MX5011 chips as well as firmware for control of these chips.

GATEWAY AUDIO provide a host of GUI interfaces for control of the MX5010 and MX5011 chips as well as firmware for control of these chips.

These solutions enable companies to specify the look and feel of the product while the basic operation remains similar.

The control of the DSP does not have to inlcude a GUI but the provision gives the user a much easier experience in programming the sounds as well as sharing settings with other users with the same product.

You could for example promote a guitar with a great setting from a well known player.

GATEWAY AUDIO can also provide a complete API so that other interfaces can access the DSP easily through the USB interface of a PC or MAC.

Users are able to hear in realtime the changes to thier sound and when they are satisfied with the results save them to the memory in the Guitar preamp. Depending on the memory available, Multiple presets can be saved simultaneously.

More advnaced interfaces are also available for a more enhanced control of the MX5010 and 5011

-A USB interface and microcontroller:
Direct USB control from PC or MAC with GUI for adjusting the sound the user wants
Direct control of presets without connection to computer
Adjustment of pre assigned parameters.

-The MX5010 Module with Analog I/O. The MX5011 (Guitar Effect processor) can also be utilized in this way and this offers further flexibility to create exciting products.

A variety of products can be developed from these modules and GATEWAY AUDIO can customer write the GUI
and the firmware to suit different vendor requirements.

The module could be used inside a guitar or optionally an external unit could be built. External controls can
be added for assignment of parameters where required.

Technology development group Gateway Audio first announced LanCore™, a revoltionary new digital audio transfer technology at AES 2006, San Francisco, USA. Since then LanCore™ technology has provided product developers an affordable integrated digital audio transfer mechanism using the Ethernet (802.3) protocol over standard CAT-5 or optical hardware.

Managing Director at Gateway Audio Danny Olesh said: “With the introduction of our new LanCore™ technology, audio development partners can now integrate a stable ultra low-latency digital audio connectivity solution in their product range with ease. Up to 32 channels (other configurations available) of 24-bit 96kHz digital audio along with a bi-directional control data pipe can be freely transmitted using a single CAT-5 or optical cable. With parallel or daisy chain network topology options, complex cabling systems will become a thing of the past.”

Danny Olesh continued: “During development our engineers liased with several audio manufacturing partners to ensure LanCore™ performance and reliability specifications lived up to critical audio application expectations. With LanCore™’s excellent technical performance combined with Gateway Audio’s comprehensive multi-level licensing program, our partners are already beginning to see the benefits that LanCore™ technology can bring to both their current and future products.”

“It’s great to see LanCore™ come to fruition. Our evaluation kits along with full development tools are now available on request. We can’t wait to see what exciting products our development partners are sure to come up with utilizing LanCore™ technology”, says Gateway Audio’s chief technical director Jeffrey Vallier.

Main features of LanCore™ technology include:
•	Up to 32 Channels of 24-bit/96KHz digital audio transmitted from Master to Slaves
•	Bi-directional control data pipe with serial interface
•	I2S interfaces to A/D and D/A converters
• Ultra low-latency, completely synchronous, configurable channel I/O and routing, clock distribution, rock solid reliability

to select which channel should be played back as well as have direct DSP control, with each module utilizing an MX5010 you have complete processing control over each set of speakers. The control and the audio are sent over CAT5 and can be hooked
up in a variety of ways such as RS232, IP or Wireless control.

Each module can be daisy chained and as such has the system has an unlimited amount of outputs. It is by far the only configurable unlimited matrix system for audio playback.
